背景 / Background
- ドメイン移管というものをしてみたかったのと、Google Cloud を利用しているので支払いを統合したかった。
まとめ / Outcome
- ドメイン移管はできるが、一時的に WHOIS 情報を公開しないといけない
- お名前.com に限らず、ドメイン移管時に移管先から WHOIS 情報を元に所有確認が必要（どうにかならないものか）
- 住所や電話番号について、電話や住所への送付で確認が行われるわけではないため、一時的にメールアドレス以外については、仮の情報に切り替えたとしてもドメインの移管はできた（自己責任で！）
- 移行時間は全体で 1 時間。その間、WHOIS の情報は個人のもの（仮置きしたが）が公開されていた
- インターネットには、ドメインを一度破棄させてから再取得する際に移行するプラクティスがあったが、破棄される30日程度の間待っているのも厳しいものがある
- ドメイン移行後、必要に応じてDNSの設定をしないとサイトへの接続ができなくなる

ドメイン移管の手順はインターネット上にあるため、記載は割愛する。
ポイントとして、Googleドメインへの移管が完了するまで、一時的にだが WHOIS 代行を解除しないといけない。
ドメイン移管中の状況
ドメイン移管が完了するまでに、数時間程度がかかる。 whois を変えた瞬間、やはり ICANN に登録されている値は変わった（下記は、サニタイズした情報）

最長で 5/27 までとあるので、やはり WHOIS には個人情報を載せない方がよい。
ドメイン移管を開始してから、30分後に transfer の承認連絡
「【重要】トランスファー申請に関する確認のご連絡」というメールがお名前.com から来た。
承認が終われば、Googleドメインに切り替わり、WHOIS も切り替わるかと思ったが、承認を押してもしばらく WHOIS 情報は変わらなかった。
さらに 30 分後、メールアドレスの確認を実施
メールアドレスが正しいかを確認するメールが来た。 このメールアドレス情報はどこを参照して送っているか不明だが、WHOIS を公開するとしても、当然正しいメールアドレスを設定しておく必要がある。
全体として、下記のような時間で移管が進んだ。
WHOIS 情報を確認。Google のほうには正しい住所などを設定しているが、プライバシー保護を有効化しているため、Google が代理登録をしていることが確認できる。

感想
ドメインの所有を ICANN に証明するのはよいとして、それを公開情報にする必要性がどれほどあるのだろうか… せめて情報がマスキングされるようにしてほしいところだ。
また、移管についても、インターネット上で簡潔する手続きにこれほど時間を取るのはなぜなのかが気になった。
後日談
ドメインの管理場所を変更後しばらくは問題ないと思っていたが、数日してサイトへ接続ができなくなったことに気づいた。 理由は、お名前.com で設定していた DNS の設定を Googleドメインへ引き継げておらず、独自ドメインの名前解決に失敗してしまったからだ。
ブラウザ上のキャッシュが残っているため、すぐに発覚しなかったのが盲点だった。
Googleドメイン側にも必要な DNS 設定を実施することで、こうして無事記事を届けられるようになった。
